'Teaching in the Key of Life'

Admission Requirements

  1. The Child must be at least two (2) years of age at the time of enrollment.
  2. Children are accepted regardless of nationality, color, race or creed.
  3. 08-1b-tallThe following forms must be completed and returned to the school prior to the child’s admission:
    • Physician’s Report: The report should contain general information about the child’s health, any special problems or needs, if any exist; the child’s physical and emotional characteristics and documentation of vaccinations and tests indicated on the form. Additionally, there must be included results of a current Tuberculosis Test.
    • Identification and Emergency Information Form
    • Child’s Pre-Admission Health History
    • Consent for Medical Treatment Form
    • Parent’s Rights Form, including Caregiver’s Background Check Process Form
    • Personal Rights Form
  4. State law prohibits dropping off children outside the school premises or dropping off children anywhere on the school premises other than to be given directly to a Joyce’s Toluca Lake Pre- School and Kindergarten staff member. At no time should a child be sent to school alone. A child is not permitted to open or close the front entry door, as this is the responsibility of the parent, guardian or whomever delivers or picks-up the child.
  5. State law requires that every child must be signed IN and OUT at the time he/she is dropped off or picked-up. A fee of $2 may be charged each time you fail to sign IN or OUT.
  6. The child must be picked-up only by those persons listed on the Identification and Emergency Form. If someone other than a person listed on the above form is to pick up your child, then, be sure to notify the Director in writing. It is the policy of Joyce’s Toluca Lake Pre-School and Kindergarten to not release your child to a stranger.
  7. As a safety measure, the school will not permit the following items to be brought to school:
    • Gum
    • Food other than lunch
    • Coins/Currency
    • Jewelry
    • Vitamins
    • Small gadgets
    • Items deemed to be harmful
    • Knives/Swords
    • Guns
  8. All monies/checks intended for the school must be given to the Director or the Assistant Director.
  9. The school must be notified of any changes in your address and/or telephone numbers, at home and at work, immediately so that should there be an emergency, no time will be lost trying to correct incomplete records.
  10. Please do not call the school during lunch or naptime, unless it is an emergency.
  11. Smoking is not permitted anywhere on the school premises.
  12. Breakfast may be brought to school before 7:45 a.m., however it is preferable that breakfast be eaten at home.
  13. It is understood that a child may be terminated for any of the following reasons:
    • Failure to pay tuition, as agreed.
    • Behavior of the child or parent who endangers the health and/or welfare of other children and/or school staff.
